- As a part of our Comida con Causa project, we all had to make infographics somehow relating to food. We were able to choose whatever topic of food we'd like, so I decided to learn more about the effects that different foods have on ADHD. I found that one of the big causes of ADHD in children is not actually the food, but the dyes that are put in them. Before we started making our infographics we had to write research papers to make sure we really understood the topic. We had to learn how to find information from valuable and reliable sources to make our work as professional as possible. Below is a link to my research paper along with one of the many sources I used to gather my information.

I found this mini project very useful in the sense that I strengthened my skills as a researcher and writer which will be very useful in college. I also liked that it went with the overall theme of our project so it was easy to present during our exhibition. I really liked how people were intrigued by the topic as much as I was during the times I presented. All the facts I found interesting such as how 13% of kids ages 14-17 have some form of ADHD where also interesting to others.
Many drafts went into both the research paper and infographic to make them look as exemplary as possible for exhibition. With our research paper, many of the corrections had to do with sourcing and staying in MLA format, while with the infographics it was more about the visual. I learned more about what to look for in both of these categories for when I receive critique and also when I give critique.
I am really proud of the way both of my pieces turned out. People really enjoyed them which made all of my hard work pay off. There is not much I would do differently if I were to do this project again. Maybe I would try to add more visual touches in photoshop to may the infographic that much better and for the research paper maybe I would add a bit more of the FDA's perspective. All in all I feel it was a successful project and I'm grateful for what I learned from it.
